The Cinematheque KOFA presents its third annual Film Series of filming locations between 26th of July and 8th of August, 2017.

Films about cities are both part of modern urban experience and a mode of our reflecting on that experience. Over the last century both cinema and cities have been in flux and we have learned from films that explore cities. Also, focusing on filming locations helps us to view films from a new perspective.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region in 2017, this year’s edition presents the 2 sections with the 17 Hong Kong films. Especially, “Creative Visions: Hong Kong Cinema 1997-2017” is co-presented by Korean Film Archive and Create Hong Kong, in partnership with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Tokyo and the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society as a project manager. Seoul is one of only ten cities in the world selected to host this celebratory event, including Toronto, Prague, Udine, Moscow, London, Berlin, Paris, Vancouver, and Manchester. It features 10 specially curated Hong Kong films produced from the past 20 years, talks with Hong Kong filmmakers d and experts.
Also, “KOFA’s Special screenings” includes 7 Hong Kong titles peculiarly beloved by Korean audiences.
