Cinematheque KOFA: May Kids Cinema
Date : 2026.05.20.Wed ~ 05.23.Sat
We question the ways in which the medium of film enters a child's life. Beyond being mere educational content or a simple source of entertainment, what kind of mark does the experience of sitting side-by-side with others in the dark, sharing the light of the screen, leave on a child? Since its debut last November, Kids Cinema has established itself as a biannual program, aiming to offer young audiences a "Cinematheque Experience" that transcends conventional movie-watching.
In today's flood of media, the power to discern quality content ironically stems from the time spent intensely confronting "good films." Kids Cinema strives to be a space where children are not just passive recipients, but active spectators who expand their thoughts by grappling with the questions posed by cinema. The theater thus becomes not only a place to watch movies but a public plaza for communication—a place to share questions with peers and learn to see through the eyes of others.
The core keyword for this year's Kids Cinema is "Community." The sense of connection—between you, me, and us—becomes the strongest foundation for an individual's life. As the saying goes, "A good movie leaves good questions." Through this program, we hope children will look their lives in the eye through the lens of cinema and experience a special time sharing the questions they discover in each other's presence.
[Notice] The screening of will be presented in English with Korean subtitles. Please note that younger children who cannot yet read Korean may find it difficult to follow the story.
