Director Chie Hayakawa’s 2025 masterpiece  is our "Curator’s Choice" for June. Following her haunting debut PLAN 75, Hayakawa turns her lens to a Tokyo family hidden behind the facade of the 1987 bubble economy. The film draws deeply from the director’s personal history, reflecting her childhood memories of her father’s terminal illness. With Yui Suzuki’s subtle yet powerful lead performance and the stunning visuals of  cinematographer Hideho Urata,  is an evocative work that demands to be seen.
