The Frederick Wiseman: A Complete Retrospective, which toured five cities across Korea from autumn 2025, reaches its finale at Cinematheque KOFA this summer. As the closing chapter of this ambitious project — which screened all 45 of Wiseman's films at cinematheques and art house cinemas nationwide — the Korean Film Archive asked its audiences a simple question: "Which Frederick Wiseman film would you most like to see again?"
The response was both enthusiastic and telling. The ten films selected through audience voting and programmer recommendations reveal what Korean cinephiles remember most about Wiseman's work: a dedication to institutional spaces, an unflinching gaze, and a willingness to take time. Frederick Wiseman: A Retrospective in Ten Films is a tribute to one of cinema's great chroniclers, who passed away in February 2026 at the age of 96 — and an invitation to spend time with his films once more.
