Historical Films about the Korean Empire Historical Films about the Korean Empire (4disk, boxset) Year : 2012 It contains four historical plays as biographies of historical persons produced between the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s. For the first time among the Korean Film Archive’ classical cinema collections, it selected genre historical plays among Korean movies through the following viewpoints: “movies and history” and “politics·society and movies.” The four historical plays’ backgrounds range from the Late Period of Chosun to the Japanese colonial period. However they project the period of political ferment of Korean society ranging from the end of the 1950s to the beginning of the 1960s. |
