Kim Pan-chok (means 'sales promotion') is assigned to work in the sales promotion department of Yumi Inc., a sweetener manufacturer. He falls ill after a heated sales war with Gammi Inc., a leading competitor and is hospitalized. He devises a genius plan while in the hospital and he is simultaneously assigned to the planning department. He stages a fake romance with Sung So-bi, a cafe owner, to obtain classified information from the competitor and is rewarded with power and fame. But when the tables are turned by Gammi who comes up with a revolutionary new product, Pan-chok is ruined by So-bi's revenge. When his new idea, which he devised during his time in the country, is rejected, Pan-chok drives his car to his death.
