A Korea girl and her brother face life away from their homeland after being adopted by European parents. Sung-min, a Korean reporter dispatched to Pares, learns of a Korean / French woman named Marie-Ellen and the tragedy that has befallen her existence. Having been brought to Europe after being adopted as a 3 year old child she has suffered through traumatic experiences. When the police investigate her in connection with the murder of her adopted father she falls into a state of amnesia. Sung-min's interest in the case is aroused and she starts her own investigation. He soon discovers that the source of Marie-Ellen's difficulties is a deep desire for human affection, lacking in her life thus far. He is drawn to her and quickly falls in love. However, Marie-Ellen os sheltering a fear...fear of loving a man, she has been isolated and detached from where she longed to be for too long
