Edda  is a 34-year-old freelance media photographer who can barely take care of her daughter with her income. The group of female photographers that she belongs to receives funding from the city of Berlin for an exhibition project of images of Berlin, but it comes with various restrictions, such as in terms of cost and gender discrimination. 
Helke Sander plays the protagonist Edda and reflects her life as a female artist in Berlin and the divided city of Berlin. This self-reflective film asks all questions that are personal and political in the work environment and the home of Edda, who leads her life as an artist, a mother, a friend, and a public citizen. 

Helke Sander (1937~) Born in Berlin, Germany
After studying acting in Hamburg, she married Finnish writer Markku Lahtela and moved to Helsinki, where she worked as a director for a Finnish labor theater group and a Finnish broadcaster. She returned to Berlin in 1965 and studied at the German Film and Television Academy and then founded the Action Council for the Liberation of Women. A passionate speech at the Socialist German Student Organization (SDS) in 1968 opened the doors to a "new" feminist movement. She organized "The First European Feminist Film Festival and Seminar" in 1973 and founded Women and Film, the first feminist film journal in Europe, in 1981 and was a film director, writer, activist, and educator who led the way for Germany's Women's Movement in the 1970s ~ 1980s and the discussion on women and film.
