In Tokyo, a group lives in poverty. Osamu, a day laborer, and Shota, a young boy who lives with Osamu, routinely shoplifet goods. 
 The film won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2018.
