Bok-nam, a country bumkin, heads to Seoul with the sole purpose of achieving success, so that he can make his mother's life comfortable. After a series of events, he ends up at a movie studio where he finds work as a grip. As he toils away, he dreams of becoming an actor to the amusement of his colleagues. However, Bok-nam eventually proves that what he may lack in knowledge and etiquette, he makes up for in spirit and tenacity.
