Bong-eun, a daughter of a sorceress, lives in an isolated island village far away from modern civilization. She is unable to marry because the mountain spirit is in her body. One day, Suh Jong-hun, an artist, comes to a villa on the island. He runs into Bong-eun. She becomes his model. A rumor that Bong-eun poses nude spreads across the village. Enraged, Dong-chun beats up Jong-hun. Feeling threatened, Bong-eun flees. Dong-chun runs after her but he falls off a cliff and dies. A few days later, at the Mountain Spirit Ritual, the villagers blame Jong-hun for the misfortune and throw bones at him. Bong-eun tries to stop them.
