Iron Boy
Kim Hye-mi  │ Korea │ 2004 │ 13min
A boy whose entire body is made of iron moves his creaking limbs to get through each day. One day, drawn by a mysterious dust that drifts in from outside the window, "Iron Boy" steps out of his house. Drenched in rain, he sheds his rusted body at last. This work offers a glimpse into Director Kim Hye-mi’s early 3D x-object experiments and will be screened on 35mm RP film.

Climbing
Kim Hye-mi │ Korea │ 2020 │ 77min
Se-hyeon, a professional climbing athlete, suffers a miscarriage after a car accident. As she tries to recover and prepare for the upcoming world championship, she becomes increasingly tense. One day, she receives a call from her own phone number—on the line is another Se-hyeon, who in a parallel world has never recovered from the accident and remains pregnant. As the two selves begin to influence one another, Se-hyeon’s body and mind gradually start to change.
"Climbing" juxtaposes the life of a climber—whose physical strength defines her identity—with the anxiety that comes with pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood. Se-hyeon’s everyday life, clinging to a single rope while scaling a steep cliff, is depicted through sharp and precise 3D animation. The film received the Special Jury Award and the President of the Korean Society of Animation Studies Award at the 22nd Bucheon International Animation Festival.
