The film begins with the story of Tae-il, who grows from a troubled childhood into a young man. After moving to Seoul with his parents, Tae-il soon finds work as an assistant tailor and is later promoted to a full tailor, devotedly caring for the sewing factory inside and out. Yet, for Tae-il—who dreams that everyone might one day work under better conditions—the factory’s harsh labor environment feels increasingly suffocating. Seeing little sign of change, he begins to take small but determined actions to transform the world around him.
Alongside a reality that still repeats itself yet is too often forgotten, the film reminds us that the name “Chun Tae-il,” familiar to all, once belonged to a kind and comforting friend, a caring brother, and a devoted son. The film received numerous honors, including the Audience Award for Best Animated Feature at the 26th Fantasia International Film Festival, the Jury Distinction in the Contrechamp section at the 46th Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and the Grand Prize at the 18th Seoul Indie-AniFest.
