The Summer

"The Summer" unfolds through the soft voice of 'Lee-kyung', who reminisces about a season that can never return. One afternoon after school, Lee-kyung is struck by a stray soccer ball and meets 'Soo-yi', a member of the soccer team, for the first time. Just like the shock of the ball that shatters her glasses, Lee-kyung—with her light brown eyes—is instantly drawn to Soo-yi, whose eyes are dark and deep, the complete opposite of her own. Following her debut work "Kopi Luwak," which portrayed the innocence and clumsiness of first love through the protagonist’s narration, Director Han Ji-won once again demonstrates her delicate and refined storytelling in this film.
