On a wartime evacuation road during the Korean War, an older sister abandons her young sibling to survive alone. Nicknamed "Omok" for her delicate features, the younger sister becomes a war orphan and endures a life of hardship. Years later, the older sister has risen into high society, but carries the weight of her guilt. When she finally finds Omok, she turns away, unable to face what she has done. Omok marries a man she grew up with in the orphanage, and the two struggle through life together. The wounds of war do not end on the battlefield — they persist, quietly and deeply, in the everyday lives of those left behind.
Based on the novel by acclaimed writer Park Wan-suh, the film weaves the tragedy of Korea's separated families into a story of jealousy, guilt, and redemption between two sisters. Presented in a 4K version restored by the Korean Film Archive in 2025.
