Three Daughters Only (Ttalman ses-i-yo)
Kim Pung-geol has raised three daughters on his own. The eldest marries the president of a pharmaceutical company; the second, a man who has returned from studying in France; and the youngest, a spirited troublemaker, finds her match in a young police officer after a memorable encounter on the frozen Han River. When the eldest son-in-law's business collapses, the family must start over from scratch — with the father hawking medicine on the streets. Through it all, the three daughters conspire to find their father a new companion, and he eventually agrees to marry a widow from Yeoju.
A warm and tearful home drama about a father who raised three very different daughters alone, and the laughter and hardship that bind them together. Originally shot in color, only a 16mm black-and-white print had survived. A more complete version has been assembled using a print held by KBS to fill in missing scenes. Digitized to 4K resolution in 2024.
