Sook-young, a model prisoner in her mid-thirties, is granted special leave to visit her mother's grave. On the train, she meets a young man named Hoon. He is deeply struck by her and approaches her without hesitation—unaware that she is a convicted murderer. As the two gradually come to understand each other's circumstances, they spend a night together and promise to meet again in two years. This film is director Kim Ki-young's distinctive remake of Lee Man-hee's celebrated work Late Autumn (1966).
