After graduating from college, Hee-young prepares to enter the workforce but confronts a society closed off to women. Even after finally landing a job, she faces discrimination—saddled with typing, errands, and late-night overtime. Through the landscape of 1986 Seoul and advertisements targeting women as consumers, the film coolly documents the realities and oppression women faced at the time.
Produced by Chang, the film club of Alternative Culture, which was at the forefront of alternative cultural and feminist movements of the time, the film critiques gender discrimination in the labor market and a capitalist system that views women as replaceable “accessories.” The film will be screened from an 8mm print digitized in 2K in 2024.

Even Little Grass Has Its Own Name

This 16mm film was jointly planned and produced by Womenlink and Bariter, a women's film collective, and directed by Kim Soyoung, addressing the issues faced by female office workers. Composed of two parts, the film's first part portrays married female office workers burdened by the double duty of work and housework, while the second part depicts unmarried female office workers breaking free from their role as mere "office flowers" to actively participate in forming a labor union and gradually develop a sense of ownership.
