A film archive is a place that collects preserves and exhibits films. The Korean Film Archive is the only film archive in Korea. For 40 years, the Korean Film Archive has collected, preserved, restored, applied, studied and informed visitors about Korean films and has worked on developing movies in Korea.

This year, the Korean Film Archive celebrates its 40th anniversary with the exhibition “Korean Films with the Korean Film Archive.” The results of four decades of the Korean Film Archive’s work can be viewed, and it will be a great opportunity to see how the archive works. The film storage and archivists’ work place are not usually shown to anyone, but this year, the Korean Film Archive will reproduce these places in the exhibition and will open them to people to develop more interest in the archive.
