Starving brand-tillers had once traditionally taken anyone older than seventy deep into the mountains to leave them to die. It became a rule because food was so scarce. According to the tradition, a man takes his mother to the mountains to desert her. But thinking that one day he too will be deserted like this, he decides to disobey the dreadful rule. He comes back home with his mother.
