Two lifelong friends find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming
consequences for both of them. Martin McDonagh's first feature film set in Ireland is a simultaeneously hilarious
and tragic exploration of the human condition. Eschewing an easy allegorical take on the Irish Civil War, McDonagh
instead appears to use the inhabitants of fictional Inisherin to represent the disillusioned people of present day
Ireland.
