In the winter of 1952, near the end of the Korean War, on the central-eastern front, Army nurse officer Im Surang is assigned to a tank unit where her brother is serving. However, her brother is killed in action, and Lieutenant Shin Seong-ho arrives to take his place.
Described at the time as "a Korean version of The Battle of the Bulge, where our Army’s tank units appear even more prominently than the actors themselves—serving almost as lead characters. Tanks, as visual subjects, are as striking on screen as trains" (Chosun Ilbo, 1967.05.09), the film is a spectacular war movie featuring intense battle scenes, a touching romance between the nurse officer and the tank unit lieutenant, and comedic moments delivered by supporting actors such as Yang Hoon and Twist Kim.
This is one of the Korea–Hong Kong co-productions made in the 1960s, centered around Guangdong’s Glory Films Corporation. The passionate performance of then-popular actress Tin Yang stands out. Mandarin with Korean subtitles.
