A widow discovers her husband maintained a beach house for clandestine romantic encounters. Determined to reclaim it with a lawyer's help, she heads to Ilhabela, giving a ride to a hippie couple along the way. Evicted by court order, she leaves the young couple in charge and returns to Sao Paulo, but strange occurrences soon unfold at the property.
Reichenbach's film converges eroticism, violence, political commentary, and biting humor, created when Cinema Marginal had effectively ceased to exist. The work is both absurd and melancholic, capturing Brazil's national mood during the transition to democracy. One of the movement's key members, Reichenbach described himself as a disciple of Jean-Luc Godard and Wilhelm Reich; his films are imbued with sensuality while offering a critical perspective on the world and cinema itself.
