Bori, an eleven-year-old girl living in a seaside town, is the only one in her family who can hear. Now that she has started elementary school, speaking has become more and more comfortable for her, and among family members who communicate in sign language, she begins to feel an unfamiliar loneliness. Then Bori gets a special wish: she wants to lose her hearing.
Bori looks into what it means for people with different senses and languages to live as one family. Through Bori and her family, the film tells us that hearts can reach each other even without speaking in the same way, and that a community is not a place where people who look alike gather, but a place where different people try hard to reach one another.
