Discovery, Restoration & Early Cinema

The Cinematheque KOFA presents its 10th annual Film Series of newly restored and surviving films called “Discovery, Restoration & Early Cinema” between 16th and 31th of May, 2017.

This year’s edition includes 19 newly preserved and restored features by Korean Film Archive, foreign film archives and world’s leading commercial studios, which features rarities from around the world. As a climax to this year’s edition, the section of Discovery will be screening a selection of rare films directed by Kangcheon Lee including new 4K digital restoration of PIAGOL, LEAVING THE FATHERLAND and COOL AND COLD.

Moreover, screenings of the 3 early silent films by F. W. Murnau, Rene Clair and Ozu Yasujiro will be screening with live music, created and performed by Eunice Martins with the support of Goethe-Institut.

It includes the following 3 sections with 22 features and 2 footage compilations.
